“archi/texture” will open in concert with Ogden’s First Friday Gallery Stroll on February 6, with a public reception from 6-9pm and will run through Feb 28th. Admission and parking are free to the public.
About Focus Fest:
Whitespace is excited to announce the launch of Ogden's inaugural Focus Fest, a month-long, city-wide celebration of the recorded image.
Sandwiched between the Sundance and Banff Film festivals, Focus Fest turns an eye toward the power of the static image, and is intended to underscore Ogden's vibrant, diverse, and growing arts scene.
A dozen venues across Ogden, including galleries, museums, private studios and institutions are collaborating to feature photography from more than 150 local and international artists, with subjects ranging from traditional landscapes to experimental processes. The festival also features workshops and an ongoing Wednesday-night slideshow series.
Focus Fest will officially kick off on Friday February 6, in conjunction with Ogden's First Friday Art Stroll, and will run fully though the month of February, with selected venues continuing related programming through March.
Each venue is responsible for its own programming and hours; a list of participating venues may be found at www.focusfest.org
Focus Fest is made possible in part by a grant from Ogden City Arts, and is sponsored by Only In Ogden.
