The Heritage Theater presents the most famous love story ever written, Romeo & Juliet, by William Shakespeare. The show runs January 24 through February 8, 2014.
This play is loved all over the world for the tragic romance of its star-crossed lovers. But the story also encompasses the plight of an enduring feud between the Capulet and Montague families – a raging conflict grown so deadly that it throws an entire city into turmoil. The danger on the streets is palpable: armed enemies from both sides lurk around corners, while the Prince threatens death to anyone who is caught up in the clash. When Romeo and his Juliet rise above their feuding families, their love may serve to heal the deep divisions in Verona...or bring the entire city crashing down.
Melanie Day has directed this production for the audience member who is unfamiliar with Shakespeare’s classic text. “Many people are fearful that they may not understand the text. I can assure you, this production is easily accessible for the new Shakespeare viewer and engaging and entertaining for the Shakespeare veteran. This talented cast will touch you with their honest and emotional portrayals. Come experience the best of the Bard with us.”
