(Spoken to the tune of Jolly-Old St. Nicholas)
Christmas time is coming soon
Now you dear old parents
Make sure you’re feeling level-headed
And don’t spend all your cents!
Take the time to slow right down
And enjoy a cup of cider
Gather all the kids around
And hug them even tighter!
Let them know that they are loved
Cherished by you too
Fill their mind with loving thoughts
To last the season through
Teach them how to look for ways
To serve and help each other
While reaching out to neighbors
Or a sister and a brother
For Christmas time is meaningful
When we take the time to care
By giving to another
Who has little means to spare
Or when we leave a plate of cookies
For the widower down the lane
And watch his twinkly smile show
Through the window pane
For remembering the Christ child
In doing acts of good
Will bring far greater joy to us
Than any present could!
