Celebrating our planet’s oceans ...
'Sea Hunt’ was a popular American television drama series featuring half-hour episodes and running from 1958 to 1961. The star of the show was Lloyd Bridges who played former U.S. Navy frogman Mike Nelson, a Scuba diving underwater adventurer often employed by various agencies and private clients to find everything from missing persons and lost containers off cargo ships to downed satellites and sunken treasure.
The plots were mostly supported through Bridges’ (Nelson’s) voice-over narrations giving the show the flavor of a documentary or a radio program.
Lloyd Bridges went on to become one of America’s most popular actors starring in many films and television shows. His sons, Jeff and Beau, followed in their famous father’s footsteps and have become celebrated film stars in their own right.
The links below contain more information about ‘Sea Hunt’ and Lloyd Bridges. Take a look at the cast of ‘Sea Hunt‘ over the years and see how many familiar and now famous film and television stars got their start as young actors on that show ...Jack Nicholson, Leonard Nimoy, Robert Conrad, Larry Hagman and Bruce Dern among them.
The most interesting and memorable thing to me about the show, however, is the music for the opening and closing credits. Composer David Rose created the original soundtrack. The ominous sound of the theme music combined with the black & white format creates an almost quirky, 'doesn't quite fit', mnemonic device that carries through the decades. Listen, and see, if you don’t agree and if you remember this iconic television show and actor.

Unfortunately, our planet's fate is in the hands of politicians, not film stars or even 'We the People'. Our American president, 'Goldfinger', has rejected our planet and its environment by pulling out of an international agreement to protect the quality of the Earth, and by rejecting and eliminating environmental protection laws initiated by the wisdom and concern of previous administrations. President Trump has forfeited our future for a quick cash turnaround. Goldfinger ..."he loves only gold."
There's really not much We the People can practically do but to celebrate our good Earth and its oceans, and do our own individual parts to protect our precious environment ...and vote Trump out in 2020.
