Willard – City officials want to remind everyone that it is time to renew dog licenses, which must be renewed by January 31, 2016. The cost of a license is $5.00 for dogs that are spayed or neutered and $15.00 for those that are not. Reminder postcards have been sent out. If you no longer have your dog, please contact the Willard City offices so the dog license can be removed from their list.

Water – As the temperature drops, be aware of the possibility of frozen water lines. A slow drip is all it takes to keep your lines flowing. This is especially important if your meter or water line is in an area that is shaded. The temperature continues to fluctuate. This often causes the frost line to go down deeper, even if the temperatures are above freezing during the day. Make sure you know where your water meter is located and mark or uncover it to prevent damage with removing snow and for access in case of an emergency.

Snow Removal - Please don't shovel or plow snow from your driveway into the city streets. The piles can freeze and cause severe damage to the snow plows and create dangerous situations for motorists. Please clear around the mailboxes for postal delivery and remove your garbage containers as soon as possible after pick-up.

Sewer- Property owners are responsible for the sewer clean out at or near the property line. Make sure sewer cleanouts are cut off at ground level and capped or protected to avoid breaking them off.

Police – Winter Driving - Chief Loveland urges motorists to plan ahead and allow extra time for travel. Make sure all of your windows are cleared of snow and ice. Check windshield wipers beforehand to make sure they are functioning properly and check your tires to make sure they have adequate tread on them. Locate your insurance cards and registration and make sure they are accessible in your vehicle in case of an unfortunate incident. Also watch for deer as they come down in search of food. Chief Loveland’s main message is to SLOW DOWN and leave extra stopping distance between vehicles.

The agendas for the meetings are posted at City Hall and on the State of Utah Public Meeting Notice website at www.utah.gov/pmn.

Willard School along with the Willard City Hall will be closed on January 18, 2016 for Martin Luther King Day. Over the weekend the school will be sanitizing the school in hopes of relief from the ongoing flu germs that are lingering there.
