During the City Council Meeting last night, a 14-member committee for the Public Works Complex project was approved unanimously by the council. Every councilman expressed their excitement in finally being able to move forward on plans for the complex. The committee is made up of all 5 council members and 9 citizens.
The new committee will likely meet at the end of October and begin working through all the current information and plans for the complex and discuss new ideas as well. Many member of the committee were involved in the petitions that fought the original parameter of the bond and are dedicated to finding a solution that will cost much less than initially planned. Other members of the committee were in support of the first bond amount of up to $10M and/or the second bond proposal at $7M.
