A federal judge recently dealt a blow to the economy -- and our nation's security.

Sharon Gleason, a district court judge in Alaska, blocked one of President Trump's executive orders that seeks to expand offshore oil and natural gas drilling. In response to the ruling, the administration indefinitely delayed its rollout of a five-year plan to spur offshore energy development in the Gulf of Mexico as well as the Atlantic and Arctic oceans.

They say that about the New York Yankees ...”love to hate them.”  Why ...Jealousy?  They always win?  The ‘Yankee Mystique’?  All the attention?  The ‘Big Apple’?  Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Mickey Mantle, Yogi Berra, Roger Maris ...?  They are in a class all by themselves.  Yankees, “The Yanks” ...America.  Beloved. 

The U.S. House of Representatives health committee unveiled a discussion draft of a new bill designed to cap a Medicare patient's out-of-pocket spending in the "Part D" prescription drug benefit.

America's sickest seniors should be delighted by the news. Capping patient out-of-pocket spending will ensure they can access the drugs they need to live healthy lives. Congress should see this effort across the finish line.

The administration is training its sights on "foreign freeloaders," the developed nations that pay pennies on the dollar for the exact same drugs Americans take.

It's deeply unfair, especially since most of those medicines are invented in the United States.

Unfortunately, the administration's well-intentioned plan to punish foreign freeloaders won't work. It would reward them while depriving millions of Americans of life-saving medicines.

       New York Mayor Bill de Blasio says that the city's specialized high schools have a diversity problem. He's joined by New York City Schools Chancellor Richard A. Carranza, educators, students and community leaders who want to fix the diversity problem. I bet you can easily guess what they will do to "improve" the racial mix of students (aka diversity). If you guessed they would propose eliminating the Specialized High Schools Admissions Test as the sole criterion for admissions, go to the head of the class.
