Magnificence in quilting is on view in the Brigham City Museum’s two exhibitions, International Art Quilts and Layered Voices from Studio Art Quilt Associates, Inc. (SAQA) June 22 through Aug. 31. Admission is free. 

It’s taken us 245 years to make a mockery of our hard-fought, blessed, American democracy.  A shame, really, but isn’t that the way things go?  We had a pretty good run though, as did the Roman Empire, the ancient Greek civilization, the Incan and Aztec civilizations.  Historically, civilizations collapse after about 250 years.  We’re almost there.  Some last a little longer, even ‘til this very day, some of which are just getting warmed up.  I’d keep my eye on the Chinese.  They know something we don’t know, in fact, they know a lot we don’t know. 

America is under attack. Every day, we're besieged by a group of enemy combatants. Nameless, faceless, and spread throughout the world, this group is united by a single aim: to upend American life as we know it.

These attackers are not soldiers or terrorists in the traditional sense. They are hackers, on a mission to cause as much disruption and destruction as they can. One of their central targets is our nation's energy grid, specifically the sprawling network of oil and gas pipelines that help power homes and businesses across America.

The test, from genomics firm 23andMe, is simple to use. Folks order it online and mail in their saliva samples. Within weeks, 23andMe analyzes their DNA for nearly three dozen genetic variants. Those variants can help predict how consumers would metabolize commonly prescribed drugs such as antidepressants and blood thinners.

Plan ahead to decontaminate boats encrusted with mussels at Lake Powell

Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Senator Ed Markey released the Green New Deal, a plan to overhaul the entire U.S. economy and "achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions" within the decade.

The plan reads like a Saturday Night Live parody of an environmentalist's wish list. The pie-in-the-sky goals range from the merely impractical to the physically impossible.
