Utah firefighters continue to serve in Thomas Fire

 

SALT LAKE CITY (Dec. 15, 2017) –  More than 100 firefighters from 20 Utah fire agencies are on a two-week deployment to the Thomas Fire (252,000 acres and 35 percent contained) in Ventura County, Calif. Our firefighters are deployed under a system of state-to-state mutual aid called the Emergency Management Assistance Compact. They are working long hours and not only serving, but also gaining valuable experience.
