Media Advisory: Hatch’s Utah Tech Tour with Apple CEO Tim Cook

Washington, D.C.—Senator Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, will host Apple CEO Tim Cook in a special Q&A session with members of the Utah tech community on Sept. 30th at the Grand America in Salt Lake City. Prior to Cook’s remarks, the audience will have the opportunity to hear from some of Utah’s top tech leaders. The event will be open to media. 

Utah has recently been the subject of very strong storms, including several tornados.  The Better Business Bureau of Utah urges consumers to watch out for scams involving cleanup efforts, tree or limb removal, fence, roof and home repairs.

Governor Herbert launches Do the Write Thing Challenge

SALT LAKE CITY (Sept. 23, 2016) – The Office of Gov. Gary R. Herbert and the Utah Board of Juvenile Justice invite seventh and eighth grade students to participate in the seventeenth annual Do the Write Thing Challenge aimed at combating youth violence in homes, schools and neighborhoods.

Governor appoints new state senator and representative

SALT LAKE CITY (Sept. 21, 2016) – Gov. Gary R. Herbert has appointed Don Ipson to serve as state senator in senate district 29 and Walter Brooks as state representative in house district 75. The senate vacancy was created by the resignation of Sen. Steve Urquhart on Sept. 9.

“I am confident that as a state representative, Walt Brooks will serve our state and his district with diligence and integrity. I look forward to working with him in this new role,” Gov. Herbert said.
