Hatch to be Inducted into Utah Technology Council's Hall of Fame

 

WASHINGTON—For the first time in its history, the Utah Technology Council (UTC) inducted a lawmaker—Utah’s own Sen. Orrin Hatch—into their Hall of Fame Monday night. The group honored Sen. Hatch for his leadership in tech policy and innovation, and his efforts to develop Utah's growing technology sector. According to the organization, Hatch is a “pacesetter representing Utah’s outstanding technology accomplishments.”

Washington, D.C.—Utah’s efforts to relieve poverty by promoting self-sufficiency were brought front and center during a Senate hearing in the nation’s capital Thursday by Jon Pierpont, the Executive Director of Utah’s Department of Workforce Services. Pierpont appeared before the Senate Finance Committee, chaired by Utah’s senior senator, Orrin Hatch, in a hearing on “Welfare and Poverty in America.”
