Helping Students Learn to Love Reading

Harrisville – Students at Majestic Elementary School have seen a lot of success with their reading skills thanks to the reading program that’s designed to help students who are not reading at the grade level they are supposed to be at be able to get to that that level by the end of the year. The program is for students in grades 4-6. Students are paired up with a tutor and meet with them twice a week for 30 minutes each time to work on their reading skills. With the tutor’s help, students learn how to improve their reading fluency and comprehension skills along with how to enjoy reading.

Harrisville Religious News

Harrisville—Ascension Lutheran Church has started Operation Christmas Child with Annette Spear heading things off. "I know the March item of the month is crafts.  I collected and bought pillowcases from friends and thrift stores, and am turning them into tote bags. These are easy to do by cutting them in half, and then using grosgrain ribbon for the handles!" Annette said.

Who came to Family Night last night?  SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much fun with all of you!  Your kids are so fun and extremely talented!  We saw their creativity and involvement with their art projects and even their questions during our presentation.  I loved their smiles! Wednesday, the final permits went through on our building, and today our contractors will be on site, taking down the old barn piece by piece so we can reuse this wood and corrugated metal inside the building.  Drive by often and watch our building grow!
