To help face the hard testing week of May 15-19,   Students can De-Stress with Animals at BEHS on Monday, May 15, during lunch!  Students should sign up in with Mrs. Harris in the Counseling Center!  There are a limited number of spaces available.  Sign up fast!

Sponsored by Hope Squad, Therapy Animals of Utah will be bringing their teams of certified therapy dogs and cats to spend time assisting Box Elder’s students and staff in de-stressing for our testing and finals week.

Time spent with a therapy animal is incredibly helpful in producing your body’s automatic relaxation response, lowering your blood pressure, and lifting your spirits.  Across the state of Utah, Therapy Animals are helping all ages of students including college students reduce the stress of testing and big due dates.

Please encourage your student to come and enjoy some time with these beautiful animals!  Sign up with Mrs. Harris in the Counseling Office!

Please be aware of allergies:  Please protect your student from potential allergies.   If your student is allergic to dogs or cats, please do not have them participate in this activity.  We are sponsoring other lunchtime de-stress activities throughout the week to provide a variety of opportunities.  The therapy dogs will be in the courtyard (unless it rains – then they will be in the library and in front of the auditorium).  The therapy cats will be in the Counseling Conference Room.  Please have your student avoid these areas if they experience dog or cat allergies.

Dear Parents or Guardians, This is an update with our on-line scheduling. We had every intention to allow students to build their final schedule in April. We met several obstacles that did not allow us to do that. First, the state indicated there would be updates to streamline the scheduling process. Their updates were not completed. Secondly, we have had 11 teachers leave our school this year. The state requires that we have teachers employed teaching in their content area. We have had difficulty in finding replacements for several positions, and as a result, this has pushed our scheduling time line back so students will not be able to build their own schedules. Schedules have been run by the computer from their requested courses they selected earlier. However, students will be able to do some class changes. Here is the time frame for class changes:   Seniors: May 16th @ 11:30 am – May 19th until 3:00 pm Juniors: May 18th @ 8:00 am – May 19th until 3:00 pm   Sorry for any inconvenience, BEHS Administration
