Dear Parents: 

The 2016-2017 BEHS yearbook staff has started working on the pages for the senior section of the yearbook.  We are collecting pictures for the “Diapers to Diplomas” and “Friends and Family” sections. We would like to include your senior student! Listed below is information about each section. 

“Diapers to Diplomas”:  We are looking for a photo of your senior when they were younger (around two years old). The cost is $5.00 to have a picture included in this section. 

“Friends and Family”: Family and/or friends can write a short note congratulating your senior. We would like the photo in this section of your student when they are older (preferably 7th grade and up). The cost to put a picture and short note (30 words or less) in this section is also $5.00. 

Please send: 

A (non-returnable) baby picture of your senior (“Diapers to Diplomas” section).  A (non-returnable) picture for the “Friends and Family” section. A short note to your senior to go with the picture in the “Friends and Family” section.  (Please type the note). Write his/her name, your name, and a telephone number on the back of all pictures. Label the picture for “Diapers” or “Friends and Family”. Money/check: $5.00 per picture ($10.00 for photos in both sections). (Make checks payable to BEHS).

The counselors have started scheduling individual Plan for College and Career Ready appointments,  and will continue to schedule appointments for the next few months.  Please watch for a postcard or email to come with your student’s specific day and time. If you would prefer to schedule a day and time please contact Alicia Harris at 435-734-4854 from 7:30-3:00. We look forward to seeing you and your student at this important meeting!

Regents Scholarship: The academic rigor scholarship through the Utah State Board of Regents for students that meet the academic course requirements

Zumper Scholarship: $1,000 College Scholarship. Looking for outstanding students who have helped their classmates or community in a tremendous way. Maybe you started a club that raised $10,000 for charity, or championed recycling and sustainable practices across campus.

The Violet Richardson Award: This is a $1,000 scholarship for a young lady who has shown great volunteer service to her community particularly service that benefits women or girls.

USU US Army ROTC 4 and 3 year scholarships leading to an army career:  For: 4 yr.  apply by early Dec. of senior year.  3 yr., take ROTC as a freshman in college, successfully complete the year, then apply for the 3 yr.  both scholarships cover tuition and fees, 1200 yearly for books and a stipend for 9 months each year from $300-$500  For information: LTC Stuart 435-797-7682

The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards: This scholarship ranges in award money from$1000 to $5000. Students must be in grades 5 through 12 and be engaged in a volunteer activity.

The Glenn & Deeta Neely Endowment: For students from BEHS that fall within the top 25% of their graduating class; must be involved in one or more of the following areas: the arts, athletics, government and service organizations; must prepare a short writing statement of “Why College For Me?”; and provide TWO letters of recommendation from faculty members. This is for students planning to attend USU and is worth up to $3,500.
