​ BEELINE     Have you heard the BUZZ…..    BOX ELDER HIGH SCHOOL TEACHERS  and STAFF are AMAZING!!!  It is hard to number the hours that  each teacher/administrator/staff  member puts forth each week to  assure that our children receive the  best possible learning opportunities  during their high school experience!!  THANK YOU SINCERELY BE STAFF!!   

Did you know…..​Box Elder High School has an incredible PTC (Parent Teacher Club)!! Just a few of the things that your PTC does: -student appreciation days -teacher appreciation days -senior all night party -donates to various programs in the high school -insures that all emergency equipment ie. defibulators, first aid kits, etc are up to date and fully functional -staffs different events such as senior college night Our PTC president this year is ​AMBER EARNEST  Please consider joining so that we can continue to support these and many other high school events!!  PTC membership fee is $5!  Memberships can be mailed to the high school or purchased in the office.  Thank you so much for your awesome students!! We love them!! HAVE A SAFE WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS and… We will see you next year! :)  

Utah State University Engineering State Held on the USU campus June 4-7 All juniors who are interested in engineering or computer science as a possible field of study, should consider applying for Engineering State. Complete the online application: http://estate.usu.edu by March 17th. Registration fills up quickly and it is a first come first serve basis. Don’t wait to until March to register.

SCHOLARSHIPS 

The following scholarships are available through the counseling office:   Scholarships The following scholarships are available through the counseling office: 

 

Calvin & Reva Wiggins Foundation Scholarship: This is a $1,000 scholarship for senior students that will pursue a career in Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Astronomy, Engineering all disciplines. 

Deadline: April 6, 2018 Applications available in the counseling office. Return completed application to the Counseling Office 

Class of ’65 Scholarship: There is one $1,000 for a girl and one $1,000 scholarship for a boy. To be eligible for this scholarship students must be a graduating senior. Must major in Science, Mathematics, Technology, or English 

Deadline: April 6, 2018 Applications available in the counseling office. Return completed application to the Counseling Office 

Lowell & Colleen Sherrett Scholarship: $1,000 for a graduating BEHS senior who has been accepted to a 4 year college or university. Must have a 3.0 GPA or better and shows leadership, integrity, kindness, and strength of character. Service, community involvement, and religious involvement are also considered.  

Deadline: April 6, 2018 Pick up application in the counseling center and return completed to the counseling center 

Dale C. Young Memorial Scholarship: $3,000 for a BEHS graduate who will be majoring in Education. Must have 3.5 GPA or better, show financial need and not received any other scholarships by time of selection. Leadership, community service and other significant achievements will be considered. 

Deadline: April 6, 2018 Pick up application in the counseling center and return completed to the counseling center 

CampusDoor “Great Futures Start Here” Scholarship: There are 100 scholarships available for students who plan to further their education after high school.

Keys to Success Scholarship: All senior students are eligible. You will receive a Key Card just for applying. Scholarships that are available: Utah Valley University Bridgerland Applied Technology College Weber State University/Richard Richards Paul Mitchell the School

CoilLaw LLC Scholarship: This is a $500 scholarship for all senior students in Utah and Idaho who plan to attend a 4yr college/university.

SAE Engineering Scholarships: For students who plan to pursue a degree in Engineering or related field. Must show academic achievement. Check in the counseling center for university and undesignated scholarships.

Regents Scholarship: The academic rigor scholarship through the Utah State Board of Regents for students that meet the academic course requirements

USU US Army ROTC 4 and 3 year scholarships leading to an army career:  For: 4 yr.  apply by early Dec. of senior year.  3 yr., take ROTC as a freshman in college, successfully complete the year, then apply for the 3 yr.  both scholarships cover tuition and fees, 1200 yearly for books and a stipend for 9 months each year from $300-$500  For information: LTC Stuart 435-797-7682

Beehive Broadcasting Sports Media Scholarship: This scholarship is for any senior who has participated on a BEHS sports to include Rockettes and Cheer during their time at BEHS. Must submit an application with an essay. 

Deadline: January 15, 2018 Return completed application to the counseling office. 

BATC Applied Tech Scholarship: This scholarship is for students who plan to attend BATC and complete a technical program after high school. Covers tuition and program fees for one program.

Utah State Senate Visual Arts Scholarship Competition: This year's theme: people of Utah - unknown, forgotten, indigenous, remembered, historic, individuals, families, communities.... All entries must have at least one human figure in the work.

BYU Dept of Goelogical Sciences George Hansen Fellowship Scholarship: Must be a graduating senior, and enroll in geology or earth and space science education major.

Utah CTE Scholarship: High school senior, working on CTE courses, and plan to immediate employment after training program.

Lynn Jensen Memorial Scholarship 2015: This is a $1,000 scholarship for a senior student who plans to attend college.

Jiffy Lube Teen Driver Scholarship: All licensed teen drivers attending BEHS. Must write a 500 word essay that expresses your “inner drive.” There is a second scholarship for students enrolled in a Driver’s Ed course this year.

The Violet Richardson Award: This is a $1,000 scholarship for a young lady who has shown great volunteer service to her community particularly service that benefits women or girls.

Susan W. Coda Memorial Scholarship: Must be a UT resident, attending high school, show proof of acceptance to a 4yr college or university outside of the state of Utah, 3.8 GPA or higher, demonstrate leadership, extra-curricular activity, and be involved in community affairs. 

Deadline: Nov.1 2017 to March 1, 2018
