Senior Post High School Day

Senior Students and their Parents are Invited

Recruiters from Utah Colleges and Universities will be at BEHS to teach seniors and their parents about:

1.      Utah’s college opportunities

2.     Applying for college and meeting deadlines

3.     Federal Financial Aid and Scholarship Application Information and Deadlines

 

Pre-Registration is not required, but highly recommended.  Pre-Register by following these instructions:

1.       Visit www.gotocollegefairs.com

2.       On a computer, select “Students Register Now”

3.       Select Utah on the map

4.       Select the Higher Ed Day, listed by date

5.       Select “Register Now” and complete the registration form

6.       Select “Print my barcode” and print.

7.       Students will receive an email two days before and the day of the fair with their barcode attached. This barcode can either be printed or displayed on their phone to be scanned. We do not recommend screenshotting the barcode.

 Dear Parents of Seniors:

The 2017-2018 BEHS yearbook staff will be collecting pictures for the “Diapers to Diplomas” and “Friends and Family” sections of the 2018 yearbook. We would like to include your senior student. Listed below is information about each section.

Diapers to Diplomas”:  We are looking for a photo of your senior when they were younger (around two years old). The cost is $5.00 to have a picture included in this section.

Friends and Family: Family and/or friends can write a short note congratulating your senior. We would like the photo in this section of your student when they are older (preferably 7th grade and up). The cost to put a picture and short note (30 words or less) in this section is also $5.00.

Please send:

·         A (non-returnable) baby picture of your senior (“Diapers to Diplomas” section).

·         A (non-returnable) picture for the “Friends and Family” section.

·       A short note to your senior to go with the picture in the “Friends and Family” section.  (Please type the note).

·         Write his/her name, your name, and a telephone number on the back of all pictures.

·         Label the picture for “Diapers” or “Friends and Family”.

·         Money/check: $5.00 per picture ($10.00 for photos in both sections). (Make checks payable to BEHS).

Pictures can be sent beginning September 1st. The deadline to send in pictures/money for either section is Oct. 19th.   We cannot take any pictures after that date.  Thanks for taking time to consider helping us make this year’s yearbook special for your student. 

Also, yearbooks can be purchased online at www.yearbookordercenter.com.  The school number is 7041, cost is $41.00.  Remember to order early!! (Very few extra yearbooks are ordered).

Zumper Scholarship: $1,000 College Scholarship. Looking for outstanding students who have helped their classmates or community in a tremendous way. Maybe you started a club that raised $10,000 for charity, or championed recycling and sustainable practices across campus.

SAE Engineering Scholarships: For students who plan to pursue a degree in Engineering or related field. Must show academic achievement. Check in the counseling center for university and undesignated scholarships.

USU US Army ROTC 4 and 3 year scholarships leading to an army career:  For: 4 yr.  apply by early Dec. of senior year.  3 yr., take ROTC as a freshman in college, successfully complete the year, then apply for the 3 yr.  both scholarships cover tuition and fees, 1200 yearly for books and a stipend for 9 months each year from $300-$500  For information: LTC Stuart 435-797-7682

The Vivint Smart Home Scholarship: For a senior student who is a legal US resident who is planning to enroll in one of the majors listed in the Scholarship Official Rules. Student must submit a 1-2 minute video that meets the guidelines discritbed on the webpage.

Interested in joining the Military?

The free Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery test will be offered on Thursday, October 24th at 8:30 in the multi-purpose room of Dale Young Community High. Please arrive by 8:15. Sign up in the counseling center by Wednesday October 2nd.
