*NEW ROUTE THIS YEAR! The 5K Run/walk will be held on Saturday, June 28th, beginning at 7 a.m. at Farr West City Hall, 1896 N. 1800 W. Race map: http://www.runningmap.com/?id=718820. Please register at

www.farrwest4th.eventbrite.com, the City Office or Rec Center. The cost is $15 if pre-registered by 5 p.m. on June 22nd and $25 until June 26th, which includes a shirt. NO REGISTRATION WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER JUNE 26th. Shirt sizes are only guaranteed to those who register before June 22nd. Cash prizes will be awarded to the winners!

Tennis Tournament will be played beginning June 29th as follows: mixed doubles, Saturday morning, June 29th; men’s doubles – evening of June 29th. Women’s singles – Monday, June 30th; men’s singles – Tuesday, July 1st. Registration is $5 per player, per event. Register by June 25th by contacting Karen or at the City Hall. Winners will receive a t-shirt and a cash prize!

The Baby Contest will be held on Saturday, June 28th at the City Hall beginning at 9 a.m. FARR WEST RESIDENTS ONLY! Deadline to register is Monday, June 23rd at 4 p.m. See attached flyer for more details.

 

GOLF TOURNAMENT -------REMUDA GOLF, 801.731.7200

The Golf Tournament will be held at Remuda Golf Course. This will be a 4 person scramble for men, women and kids of all ages and abilities. Cost is $49 per person (includes, cart, range ball, swag bag, games, BBQ dinner and a raffle ticket for prizes.) Please see attached flyer for more information and registration form.

We are excited to have our Movie in the Park back for its second year! Monday, June 30th at 7:30 p.m. at the Mtn. View park. The movie will be The Lego Movie. There will be food available, as well as popcorn and candy!

 

NORTH VS SOUTH ADULT CO-ED SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT -------FARR WEST REC CENTER, 801.409.0077

Our first annual four-team, single elimination North vs South Softball Tournament will be held on Thursday, July 3rd from 6-8 p.m., with the championship game at 8 p.m. at the Farr West Park, 2090 North 2000 West. North/South dividing line is 2700 North, NO EXCEPTIONS! Must be 18 to play. Sign up at the Rec Center by Friday, June 27th. The cost is $5 per person. Tournament participation is limited to the first 30 people who sign up per division (30 for north, 30 for south). Teams will be assigned at random. Champion team will receive t-shirts and a cash prize!

Breakfast will begin promptly at 7 a.m. and will go until 8:30 a.m. at the Mtn. View Park. Tickets purchased before the event are $5 per person or $25 for a family (6 tickets). The scouts will be going around selling tickets you may contact Mike or Rob. Tickets will also be available that morning at an increased cost of $6 per person or $30 per family, so

purchase your tickets early!

 

PARADE -------HEIDI MANNING, 801.721.7508

The parade will start property at 9:30 a.m. with line up at 8:45 a.m. in the church parking lot at 1800 N. 1800 W. The parade will start at the church and go up Harrisville Rd to 1350 West, turn south into the Mtn. View subdivision, and west onto 1500 North until it reaches the Mtn. View Park. If you are interested in entering a float, please contact Heidi by June 30th. ALL FLOATS WILL NEED TO BE REGISTERED, either with Heidi or at the city office. No parking will be allowed along 1500 North during the parade, please help us in this effort.

The raffle is back! Purchase your tickets at our raffle booth throughout the day and stick around to see if you win a prize. Last year’s prizes included gas cards, gift cards, camping equipment and one lucky winner even walked away with a 48” TV! **If you are interested (or willing) to make a monetary donation or donate items to go towards raffle prizes, please contact Boyd.

Booth registrations will start on Monday, June 2nd at the city offices. Cost is $25 per booth space, additional fees apply for power (limited availability). Types of booths and space is limited, so register early! Due to regulations from the health department, any booths selling food must obtain a temporary food establishment permit from them. The Utah State Tax Commission also requires each booth obtain a temporary sales tax license, more information will be available at the city office. *New this year, tents will not be provided so please plan to bring your own pop-up! Registration deadline is Friday, June 27th at noon, or until spaces run out. The Car Show will run from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. See attached flyer for more information. A big thanks for Jiffy Lube for sponsoring the show!

 

CHILDRENS RACES & GRASS SCRAMBLE

Children’s races will start at 10:45 a.m., each participant will receive a small prize. The grass scramble will immediately follow. This event is for children only, age brackets will be 0-2 yrs, 3-4 yrs, 5-6 yrs, 7-9 yrs, 10-12 yrs and 13-16 yrs. Prizes include candy and coins!

 

PAPAGEORGE SOUVLAKI DINNER

Come join us for our famous souvlaki dinner prepared by the Papageorge family! Dinner goes from 5 to 8 p.m., or until we run out of food. Cost is $5 per plate. Dinner includes: one stick of souvlaki, salad, pita bread, dessert and a drink. Extra sides and drinks can be ordered at an additional price. Food is limited and no one will be served after 8 p.m.

 

AWARDS PRESENTATION

The Grand Marshals and overall winners from the Golf Tournament, Tennis Tournament, Baby Contest, 5K Walk/Run and float contest will be recognized at 7 p.m. by the flag pole.

 

SKYDIVERS

The skydivers will be in the air with colorful parachutes at around 9 p.m., under the direction of Blake Meibos. At this

time, we will need everyone to clear out of the east end of the park (by the ball diamond) to ensure the jumpers a safe

landing.

FIREWORKS

Our excellent fireworks are set to start at 10 p.m. and will be synchronized to music under the direction of DJ Cindy Sue and Lantis Fireworks Productions. **Additional information and registration forms can be found at www.farrwestcity.net
