Plain City—Remember the nervous feeling you get whenever you have to go to an interview, whether it’s for a job or for school? You hope you have everything prepared just right and that you don’t forget anything important or mess up on a question?  Now imagine having to go to an interview and having it conducted in an entirely different language. It seems like a pretty daunting task; but, for Calder Lake, that’s exactly what he had to do and now his hard work has paid off as he gets to go study for four weeks over in Germany along with 44 other students from across the nation.

Creamed Peas, Potatoes, and Ham

Creamed Peas, Potatoes, and Ham

*Simple Southern Goodness

1 lb. red or russett potatoes, scrubbed and cubed

2 1/2 cup frozen peas

1/4 cup butter

1-2 green onions, sliced (can use 2 Tablespoons dried chives instead)

1/4 cup flour

1/2-1 teaspoon salt (I like to use garlic salt)

Pepper to taste

2 cups milk

1 cup diced ham

 

Spiritually Edified Through Music

Over 300 young single adults (YSAs) from Weber and Davis counties came together to sing during the Saturday afternoon session of the 185th Annual General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 4, 2015. Sisters Melani and Danielle Parker of the Ogden YSA 2nd Stake both sang in the choir and absolutely loved it. They mentioned how neat it was that they had family members and friends from around the country who watched conference and could feel the Spirit through the music that was sung.
