Pleasant View

Oh the Places You’ll Go at Lomond View Elementary!

Every year, on March 2nd, a birthday party takes place in a BIG way at Lomond View Elementary in Pleasant View.  It’s a festive celebration for, none other than, Dr. Seuss!  Once inside the school, you might be greeted by The Cat in the Hat and his friends, Thing 1 and Thing 2. After lunch, they’ll be busy handing out out ice cream sandwiches to every student.  Also, all the faculty donned their yellow star “Sneetches” t- shirts with words that colorfully describe who they are such as: gardener, listener, storyteller, and happy.

House District 29 Newsletter

Things are moving along quickly as we finish the third week of the legislative session.  Rep. Perry has continued to successfully pass his legislation through the process, while somehow still having time to meet with various school groups and constituents who have visited Capitol Hill.

Small Business Owner in Harrisville Thriving

Opening a small business of your own can be challenging and sometimes risky.  Amber Hodges, of Harrisville, and owner of the AJASSEMBLY,  learned that it was the perfect distraction to keep her mind occupied. She was dealing with the issue of not being able to have a second child, which became all encompassing.   After over a year with no success, she became frustrated and sad.  “I then began to create accessories for myself and my son.  I figured if I got my creative juices flowing, I would feel better.”
