Salt Lake City (Nov. 27, 2017) – Mike Styler, executive director of the Utah Department of Natural Resources (DNR), has named Christopher Keleher as the department’s new species recovery program director. Keleher will assume his new position Jan. 1, following the retirement of current program director Henry Maddux.

The first official Utah Thanksgiving was observed on Thursday, August 10, 1848 with several hundred people in attendance.  The day’s festivities included singing, dancing and feasting.  The pioneer settlers were grateful to spend the day reflecting on the blessings, freedoms and opportunities they found in their new home.
