Governor appoints Bunnell to the Seventh District Juvenile Court

SALT LAKE CITY (June 13, 2016) – Gov. Gary R. Herbert has appointed Craig Bunnell as a judge to fill a vacancy on the Seventh District Juvenile Court.

“Craig Bunnell’s experience working with the juvenile system spans decades. He has a proven record of being a dedicated public servant devoted to helping Utah families, and I have every confidence that he will provide valuable perspective to the Seventh District Juvenile Court,” Gov. Herbert said.

(May 31, 2016) – Compass Minerals has received recognition for its work on the West Pond Sustainability Project and was awarded a Utah Governor’s Excellence in Energy Award and named the Environmental Leader of the Year. The company was presented with the award by Governor Gary R. Herbert at the Governor’s Utah Energy Development Summit.   

Utah Officially Enters Annual Fire Season, Closure to Open Burning   

Salt Lake City, Utah – May 31 is the official start to Utah’s wildfire season and marks the end of the open burning season. Fire danger will increase as warmer and drier weather accompanies the summer season. So far, tests are showing that despite the above normal precipitation in recent months, our snowpack is rapidly fading and grasses in some areas are already beginning to dry out. This drying trend will continue as the season progresses.
