State senators to decide on veto override session by April 16th

 

SALT LAKE CITY – Today, Utah Senate President Wayne Niederhauser issued the following statement in response to the governor's veto of four bills and three budget line items. 

 

"While we sometimes disagree with the executive branch, we respect the governor’s work, and the checks and balances of our constitutional system.

SALT LAKE CITY (April 1, 2015) – On the final day of the bill signing period, Gov. Gary R. Herbert took action on the remaining 16 bills, signing eight, vetoing five and allowing three to go into law without his signature. In total, 528 bills were passed during the 2015 General Legislative Session of which 495 required action by the governor.

SALT LAKE CITY (March 31, 2015) – Gov. Gary R. Herbert signed 82 bills today, bringing the total number of bills the governor has taken action on to 479. In total, 528 bills were passed during the 2015 General Legislative Session of which 495 required action by the governor. The bill signing period officially concludes tomorrow.

SALT LAKE CITY (March 30, 2015) – Gov. Gary R. Herbert signed an additional 86 bills today, bringing the total number of bills the governor has taken action on from the 2015 General Legislative Session to 397. The Legislature passed 528 bills this session, 495 of which require action by the governor.
