Governor takes action on 59 bills including investments in transportation, education equalization

SALT LAKE CITY (March 27, 2015) – Gov. Gary R. Herbert signed an additional 59 bills today, bringing the total number of bills the governor has taken action on from the 2015 General Legislative Session to 311. The Legislature passed 528 bills this session, 495 of which require action by the governor.

Lee Introduces, Senate Approves Amendment to Improve PILT Funding

WASHINGTON – Last night, Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) introduced an amendment to help local governments in Utah and other western states recover fair compensation from the federal government for its land ownership, by fully funding the Payment In Lieu Of Taxes (PILT) program. Senator Lee’s amendment (#750) was agreed to by the Senate, receiving 56 votes from his colleagues.

Herbert signed an additional 50 bills into law bringing the total number of bills the governor has taken action on from the 2015 General Legislative Session to 252. That total now includes two bills signed during the session that were omitted from previous counts. The Legislature passed 528 bills this session, 495 of which require action by the governor.

SALT LAKE CITY (March 25, 2015) – Gov. Gary R. Herbert signed 56 bills into law today bringing the total number of bills signed from the 2015 General Legislative Session to 200. The Legislature passed 528 bills this session, 495 of which require action by the governor.

Senator Howard Stephenson was right when he said on the Rod Arquette Show  that SAGE tests turn our children into guinea pigs and that SAGE should be abandoned immediately, this very minute.
