Wahlquist Junior High

Parents and Students,

We want to remind you that tomorrow, December 6, we will be holding our winter Parent Teacher Conference. It will run from 1:00-6:30. We would love to see everyone come out. This is a great opportunity to work with our teachers. We also have had a lot of lost and found items. They will be located in the main hall by the office. Any item not claimed will be distributed to local families in need.

Eagle Nation,

Our outstanding volleyball team will be playing for the district championship today at 3:30 in the Fremont gymnasium. The entrance fee is $1 that can be paid in the main office at Wahlquist or at the door as you arrive. We would love to have a huge turnout. These athletes have worked so hard to get to this point and we want to show them our support.

Harrisville City’s New Mayor Promises to Do Her Best!

The municipal elections, held on November 7th, 2017, brought big changes for Harrisville City and in the life of one particularly accomplished lady.

Michelle Tait, newly elected Harrisville Mayor says, “I felt like the whole day was dragging on and on—would it ever get here?”

Finally, the day did end and the results were in Tait’s favor: she had won the election over Gary L. Robinson.

Tait tells us, “I don’t want to sit over in the corner and watch life happen…so if I keep pushing myself I can do other things that fall into place naturally.”

We hoped you enjoyed the Thanksgiving Break and time with family. This Wednesday, November 29th any student who brings 5 box tops or more to school may wear crazy socks that day. Look around your house or ask your relatives for box tops, we would like to collect as many as we can.

Sincerely,

Ms. Wright

We had a parent come in today whose son lost a blue FCEXtreme Winter Jacket from Costco.  There is the exact same jacket in the lost and found at Bates but it is a size too small.  If you have a child with this same jacket, would you mind checking to see if the name "Trudgen" and a size 8 is on the inside of the jacket?  And if you haven't already, label all of your children's jackets with their names to help if this situation arises again.

Thank you!!

Sincerely,

Ms. Wright

This is just a reminder that Bell Photography will be here tomorrow from 11:00-1:00 doing picture retakes for any families who desire them and for students new to Bates.

Also, next week will be a short week with school only being held on Monday and Tuesday for Thanksgiving break. School will resume on Monday, November 27. If you are aware of any absences your child will be having next week, please notify the office so we can mark it and avoid a phone call.

Thank you for all you do and have a safe and happy Thanksgiving!
