Eagle Parents,
Weber Human Services will be providing a new opportunity for our students. The program, “Learning to BREATHE”, will be hosted at Wahlquist Junior High. Please see the attached flyer. This is a great opportunity. We encourage all of our students to participate.

Bates Elementary

Parents, we know as it gets colder and darker in the morning, it may become a challenge to get your child to school on time. This morning we had 85 students who arrived after the second bell rang at 8:25.

We worry about students missing crucial time in the morning whether it be reviewing information from the day before, working in reading groups, or starting their math lesson.

If you struggle to get your child to school on time, here are afew suggestions:

Weber County Commissioner Kerry Gibson to Resign, Accepts Position at Utah Department of Natural Resources

The following statement is released by Commissioner Kerry Gibson:

Ogden, Utah (Dec. 12, 2017) – As a fifth-generation dairy farmer and lifelong resident of Weber County, I feel blessed and honored by the opportunity I’ve had to serve as a Weber County Commissioner for the past seven years.

The municipal and special general elections are finalized with Harrisville City.

Here are the results:

Gary L. Robinson            349     32.43%

Harrisville City Council—4 year

Clark Beecher                  571    29.85%

Jennifer Jensen               538     28.12%

Just a reminder that tomorrow is Dollars for Donuts in our coin collection to help families in need. For every dollar a student brings in, they receive a bite-size donut. Bring in $5 and they get a pack of donuts!  Donuts will be distributed at lunchtime.

Bates Elementary

Have you ever wondered...what causes inversion conditions in the Utah valleys? As high pressure builds into the area, the mid-atmosphere warms, while the valleys stay cool. This warm air acts like a lid that traps pollution from a variety of sources in the valleys. Expect inversion conditions to remain across the area through the next 7 to 10 days. More info is in the graphic.

One final reminder about Parent Teacher Conference today. We will start at 1:00 and finish at 6:30. We would love to have everyone attend. This is a great opportunity to work with our teachers.
