PLYMOUTH, UTAH – The Broad Canyon Fire has burned approximately 20,614 acres. Box Elder County Fire and mutual aid assets (approximately 195 personnel from multiple agencies, five planes and a number of helicopters) have contained approximately 30 percent of the wild-land range as of 1:00 p.m. today, August 5, 2016. There have been no injuries to date.

The fire did jump the defensive lines and is moving west to the Pocatello Valley. The Spirit Ridge Rifle Golf club is being threatened, but crews are working hard to defend it. The status of events scheduled at the club are pending. Inquiries regarding events can be referred to 435-764-6980.

Box Elder County Fire and partnering organizations wish to express their appreciation to the many business and citizens that have donated supplies, including food and water to the firefighting efforts. Donations are currently being received at the Plymouth Town Park, 20120 North 5200 West.

Due to the dry conditions and high fire weather the Utah Division of Forestry and Fire and State Lands have gone to Full Fire Restrictions, what this means is that Fireworks are restricted in all unincorporated Box Elder County.

The fire began Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at approximately 11:30 a.m. in the Broad Canyon area north west of Plymouth Town area, Box Elder County, Utah. The fire is under investigation.
