The Confidence Crisis for Girls and Women

September 23, 2014 (6:30-8:30 p.m.)

I have attached a flyer for the event, and this and other information is found on the homepage of the Utah Women & Leadership Project website. The event has no cost, but RSVP is required. We currently have 315 registered and we can house 400 for the event. We expect it to be full in the next week, so get registered now for you and your group.

Event Description: The latest research continues to say that girls and women struggle more with confidence than boys and men. Why is this the case? Why is confidence so important in all aspects of our lives? What can we do to help girls develop and keep a strong sense of confidence? How can we strengthen and use confidence in every aspect of our lives—whether with friends or in school, community, workplace, church, or even in our own homes. Dr. Madsen’s engaging presentation will help us understand the confidence gap between genders and how we can strengthen our confidence to be prepared to contribute in more meaningful ways in the world. The event will conclude (last 45 minutes) with light refreshments as attendees move into small group dialogues at tables. Come, listen, learn, and add your voice to this important conversation! This event is open to all women 16 years of age or older and all those who influence girls and women. 

Please distribute this to your contacts and also extend invitations to those you think would benefit for themselves or so they can more positively influence other girls and women (isn’t that about everyoneJ). I’m excited to host and facilitate this one and look forward to seeing you there! Also, Dixie State University will be hosting another confidence event (same info) on October 23 for Southern Utah, so check our website for a flyer soon.
