Farr West City Council Revokes WISCO Business License

During the January 22 Farr West City Council meeting, members unanimously voted to revoke the business license for WISCO, Inc for failure to comply with required upgrades to the property in accordance with the site plan created by the City Planning Commission, including erecting a fence to divide the business property from private land and constructing an asphalt driveway.

Friends for Life, Both on and off the Field

Farr West/Plain City – It’s Saturday morning and seven friends and their moms are eating breakfast together at Jeremiah's in Ogden. It may not seem like a very special event, but for these friends and moms, it’s a fun time to be able to catch up with one another and reflect on all the fun memories they’ve had together. So what makes this group so special? All seven young men played soccer together out at Fremont High School as well as all serving missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Public Outcry Over Purposed Wood-burning Ban

The Utah Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) hosted several public meetings in Tooele, Box Elder, Cache, Salt Lake, Davis and Weber Counties to get citizen input on several proposed policies, including a complete ban on the use of wood burning stoves and fireplaces from Nov 1 through March 15 each year.

Water Year Worries

It’s no mystery that Utah is considered a desert, especially with the above normal temperatures of February and little precipitation that occurred that month. People may be wondering what this all means for Utah’s water year. Will there be enough water in the spring or summer? Is there a possibility of a drought? Looking at the facts may help alleviate some worries; but, needless to say, there’s a lot going on of which people need to be aware.

Good Bill Alert: SB 256 (Carry "Unloaded" Firearms Concealed) in Committee TOMORROW

(Alert for 3/2/15): SB 256 would "allow" adults (21 or older) to carry concealed firearms in an "unloaded" condition without a government concealed carry "permit".  Adults could possess concealed firearms in this "unloaded" condition in areas currently authorized to concealed carry government "permit" holders only (with the exclusion of any school or university grounds).

Bad Bill Alert for 2/4/15: HB 37: Gun Control By Bureaucrats

HB 37: Gun Control By Bureaucrats
HB 37 reauthorizes numerous "administrative rules" created by unelected bureaucrats that have the same effect as state statute. These include gun controls and many other subversions of your natural rights.

HB 37 is particularly significant in that it demonstrates the lackadaisical, lazy, and compliant nature of Utah's supposed "gun rights champions".  Rather than rein in the bureaucrats, they prefer to carte blanche approve their corruption.

STATE SEEKS TO STRIP INDIVIDUALS OF FREEDOM UNDER THE GUISE OF CLEANER AIR- THE DIRTY TRUTH ABOUT DIVISION OF AIR QUALITY

Northern Utah--Thanks to big government, the days of “chestnuts roasting on an open fire” will soon be a thing of the past or levied a large fine.  The Division of Air Quality in Utah is seeking to strip away the freedom of choice in Utah.  Utah is about to institute a mandatory no burn action when they feel the pollution is building up to unhealthy levels during winter inversions. The regulations would cover nearly every county in Northern Utah including Box Elder County and Weber County.

Air Quality VS Quality of Life

Recent campaign propaganda by UCAIR is attacking the use of wood burning fireplaces and stoves. They claim that 1 fireplace will produce as much pollution as 90 sport utility vehicles.  I think that all of us are interested in clean air, blue sky and the ability to breathe easily, but somehow the data and comparisons that are presented seem emotionally charged and perhaps flawed. I know that if given the choice I would much rather stand right next to a campfire (burning wood) than next to the tail pipes of 90 SUV’s - especially on a cold day.
