State Board adopts new science standards for grades 6-8

The Utah State Board of Education voted Friday to adopt new 6-8 grade science standards that incorporate engineering concepts and reflect current research.

The standards will go into effect in the 2018-19 school year, following a pilot year in 2017-18. This allows time for teacher training and test item development.

CHILDREN’S BOOKS NEEDED!

The Wahlquist Spanish Department would like to say a great big “¡GRACIAS!” to everyone who participated in our calendar fundraiser!  It’s been quite a success!  Proceeds will be used to provide clothing and books to young students at Dee Elementary School.    We truly appreciate the great effort of our students and the outstanding support of our parents!

Bicentennial Park/Pleasant View Dr. Trail is Completed!
Ribbon Cutting: Nov. 18th, 3 PM

The new asphalt walking trail along Pleasant View Dr. is completed! This is a great safety enhancement as there is not any sidewalk in this area, and also provides a continuation of the Pleasant View City walking trail that for many years has ended at the North Ogden border. This is a great addition to our trail network! Join us next week for the ribbon cutting.

Future of the Old Smith’s Building

United Futsal Grand Opening

The United Futsal indoor soccer center was opened in the old Macey's/Carbon Fiber building behinds Kirt's Drive-In and Pizza Pie Cafe. This building was vacant for about 10 years and we are so happy to see a fun and exciting business move in! A large crowd was on hand to help cut the ribbon and welcome this business to town!
