Senator Hatch, Alexander, Corker, Whitehouse Introduce Bipartisan, Bicameral Legislation to Allow Songwriters to Receive Fair Pay

WASHINGTON, March 4, 2015 – U.S. Senators Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, Lamar Alexander, R-Tenn, Bob Corker, R-Tenn, and Sheldon Whitehouse, D-RI, along with U.S. Rep. Doug Collins (R-Ga.) of the House Judiciary Committee and Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, R-NY, today introduced legislation that would allow songwriters to receive compensation based on the fair market value of their songs.

SALT LAKE CITY – (March 4, 2015) Utah’s total employment grew at a year-over pace of 4.1 percent in January, while private sector job growth increased by 4.7 percent, according to new data released today. What: An LGBT and Religious nondiscrimination bill will be introduced to the Utah State Legislature

Who: Senator Urquhart, Senator Adams, Senator Dabakis, Representative Dee, Equality Utah leaders, representatives of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and other legislative and community leaders

When: Wednesday, March 4th, 2015, at 12 p.m.
