Governor committed to working with House to give Healthy Utah 2.0 fair shot

SALT LAKE CITY (Feb. 26, 2015) – Gov. Gary R. Herbert is committed to working with the House of Representatives to come to an agreement on the Healthy Utah 2.0 bill (SB164) passed by the Senate yesterday. If those negotiations prove to be fruitless, the governor will consider all his options, though we have not specified support for any specific action and we do not have, at this point, a comprehensive list of available options.

The House of Representatives is scheduled to vote tomorrow morning on the reauthorization of No Child Left Behind.

We must apply pressure to ensure your lawmaker votes “NO” on H.R. 5.

First Congress had a chance to put an end to government intervention in America’s education, but the Republican-controlled House is trying to reauthorize No Child Left Behind (H.R. 5). This bill falls short on every measure of a bold conservative education plan.

Gov. Herbert responds to Sen. Bennett health condition

SALT LAKE CITY (Feb. 25, 2015) – Gov. Gary R. Herbert issued the following statement concerning the news of former Sen. Bob Bennett’s health condition:

“I’m very saddened to learn of Sen. Bennett’s condition. Nearly all of us know someone who has battled cancer and we understand the challenge it presents for an individual and his loved ones. The Bob Bennett I know is a fighter and I have every reason to believe he will beat it.”
