Course Description

Sprint Course

- Swim 500 Meters, in a pool doing S-laps. Starting on the West side of the pool change lanes each length of the swim East until you exit. Swimmers will enter the pool every 15 seconds based on the fastest to slowest swimmer. We will have plenty of help and instruction and we promise it will make sense on race day.

- Bike 12.5 Miles, after you exit the transition area you will go west on a country road to Mendon, Utah. Just prior to Mendon at 6.25 Miles you will see someone who will turn you around and you will come back. The road is primarily flat and farmlands.

- Run 3.1 Miles, after you exit the transition area you will go South on city roads to a city park and golf course. There you will find a beautiful path following a river under a canopy of trees where you can enjoy the scenery. At Mile 1.55 you will see a volunteer who will turn you around for complete 5K run.

Olympic or Double Sprint

This is the same exact course as the Sprint Course however when you complete the Sprint Course you will reenter the Swim instead of the finish and do the whole Sprint over game. This F1 format was introduced in 2013 with a great response from the participants.

Aid Stations

Aid stations will be on the run at Mile 1 and 2. There will also be an aid station for Mile 3.1 on the run for those doing the Double Sprint. These aid stations will be loaded with Water, Heed Electrolyte, and Hammer Gels. The finsih will also have bread and peanut butter for sandwiches, bananans, oranges, drink, and more.

PRESS RELEASE
The Heritage Community Theater brings the classic musical, “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers” to their stage beginning June 6. Based on the popular movie, “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers” is the story of Adam Pontipee and his 6 younger brothers, backwoodsmen with no proper social ways. Adam goes to town looking for someone to take care of the boys and brings back Millie, whom he takes to wife. She cleans them up and smooths out their “mountain man” tendencies. They attend a barn raising where they meet and fall in love with 6 girls. The plot thickens as they kidnap the girls and carry them into the mountains. Millie, horrified by their actions, bans them from the house for the winter. Each scene brings delightful antics and, most importantly, toe tapping musical numbers and dancing that will lighten the hearts of all audience members.

The production side of the show is a family affair. Director Dee Pace is assisted by wife Nedra in charge of vocals, daughter Katie, choreographer, and daughter Kenzie, as costumer. Katie’s fiancé, Nathan Hess, is set designer. “We’re not sure if he had to pass an audition . . .”, Dee says playfully. Add to that many, many willing hands who help with sound, assist with building, painting, sewing, etc., etc. “We refer to this crew as our ‘extended family,’ which is pretty common in the theater. When you spend this much time with people, you form a bond.”

Then there is the cast. Dee and Nedra both remark that there is an extreme amount of high-end local talent, coming from Tremonton to South Ogden and in between. The role of Adam Pontipee is played by James Shurtleff, North Ogden, who brings his beautiful tenor voice to the stage. The brothers are played by Kayle Stephens, Taylor Grigg, Jordan Grigg, Kyle Parkinson, Scott Dinsdale, and Jordan Spackman. Brides are Emily Bradford, Laura Dean, Cassidy Lott, Shaydra Raymond, Morgan Richards, and Ginny Spencer. Another family affair, the Griggs brothers come accompanied by father and mother, who are taking roles in the ensemble. There is also a father-son combination, David Spackman, one of the ensemble, and Jordan, youngest brother Gideon. The brides and brothers must not only be vocally adept, the dancing is demanding and athletic. “These kids get a workout,” says choreographer Katie.

“Seven Brides” will run June 6 through 28 at 7:30 p.m., with matinees on June 14 and 21 at 2:00. Tickets are $10 for adults and $9 for seniors and children 12 and under. The Heritage Theater is located at 2505 South Hwy 89 in Perry. Tickets may be obtained online at www.heritagetheatreutah.com , by phone at 435-723-8392 or at the box office Monday and Wednesday through Saturday between the hours of 11:00 and 2:00 p.m. The box office also opens on show nights at 7:00 p.m.
