The hustle and bustle of the holiday season is quickly approaching. The kids are starting to beg for toys, holiday to-do lists are growing by the hour and a few neighbors are turning on their Christmas lights already. All of this combined with the cool temperatures can mean only one thing…it’s time to start enjoying winter in Utah!

Utah is home to a wide variety of outdoor winter recreation actives. People travel from all over the world to experience the holidays in the Rocky Mountains.

I am a little late for my appointment with Codie and Heather Braegger, husband and wife co-owners of Defiance Martial Arts in downtown Brigham City. Fortunately for me they don’t mind and are very gracious as they welcome me to their training hall. The dojo (what they call martial arts training halls) consists of two rooms featuring padded floors and mirrored walls further decorated with various martial arts paraphernalia. I notice that the space is not as large as other dojos I have visited.

It's the perfect time of year to throw together some tinfoil dinners!

                Since the announcement by LDS Church President Thomas S. Monson on October 6th of last year inviting worthy young men to serve a mission as soon as they are 18 and graduated from high school, and worthy young women to serve if they so desire as young as 19, a lot has happened.
