Pleasant View City Ordinances Stifle Business and Jobs

Part of the property along Highway 89 disconnected from Pleasant View City in 2004 was enticed back into the city with the prospect that property owners would be given enough property rights to enable development. Since that time the city passed a new zoning ordinance called the TOD Zone for a 24-acre portion on that area.

Is Man Free?

As a child, I grew up with the idea that freedom was the universal ideal. I instinctively knew that America was special among all the nations of the earth because it was the only one that didn’t ask whether man was fit for freedom, but instead recognized that nothing but freedom was fit for man. I grew up with a love for America and its symbols: the flag, the Pledge of Allegiance, and Independence Day.

Super Simple Ribs

2 c canned peaches, apricots or other fruit

1/3 c catsup

1/3 c vinegar

2 T soy sauce

½ c brown sugar

2 t ginger

1 t salt

dash of pepper

4-8 boneless pork ribs

Throw everything but the meat in the blender.  Pour sauce over ribs in a casserole dish with a lid.  Bake at 450* for 75 minutes.  Bake another 90 minutes @ 350*.

The meat will be so tender and yummy! Serve over rice or noodles or with potatoes.

Electors are representatives of a political party; when an individual voter casts a vote for a presidential candidate, his vote is counted as one vote for that candidate's party. The party that receives enough votes gets to send its representatives to serve as electors in the presidential election. This second election, known as the electoral college, is a provision put in place by the Founding Fathers for four reasons:

City Budget Struggle Time - Wants vs. Finances

Utah cities' budgets are required by state law to be balanced. This is the season of the year that begins the struggle for the city councils in working on the budgets which must be completed by July 1st. City governments have various sources of income which they seek always to increase due to pressure from the citizens for more services and amenities, and city employees who always want an increase in salaries and benefits.

Transparency in Government?

The website “Wikipedia” defines “Transparency” as “the physical property of allowing the transmission of light through a material.” Specifically, in reference to the recent distribution of the NOC 4 page “Media Relations Policy” wherein is stated the “Goal… is to establish ‘transparency in government’.” A search of this phrase on Wikipedia lists this summary:
