Grass Roots Electoral - for Congress

Dear Editor,

The Great Hijacking

George Washington was the greatest statesman and the only one in our national history who was elected to the presidency by a unanimous vote. He had won the hearts and confidence of the people by his years of unquestioned integrity and untiring adherence to the cause of freedom for his fellowman. When the framers of the Constitution took the first step toward securing a government of the people, by the people, and for the people, they pronounced a method of election that would secure us a statesman like Washington rather than a power hungry politician for president.

Black Americans and Liberty

Having recently reached 74 years of age, if one were to ask me what's my greatest disappointment in life, a top contender would surely be the level of misunderstanding, perhaps contempt, that black Americans have for the principles of personal liberty and their abiding faith in government.

Trouble Ahead

We are being warned by many that America is on the cusp of impending financial collapse. Like it or not, believe it or not... the USA IS in "big" trouble!

We must be realistic in approaching the serious problems we have.  Unless citizens wake up to what is actually happening, we are headed for more than just a significant recession.

Thick & Thin

Genetics: Do we have no choice but to play the hand we're dealt? Tall and short, dark and light, freckled and tanned, we come in many packages with innumerable features, most of them determined by our genetics before we ever draw breath. Very few of these traits can we control, and we just have to play the hand we're dealt. But when people are earnestly trying to lose weight and failing again and again, many ultimately get the sneaking suspicion that they really are playing against a stacked deck. They may be right.

Candidates Study Justice by reading "The Law"

Local candidates for city offices have been given a copy of the book "The Law" written by Frederic Bastiat. Most of the candidates are currently reading the book. The book was donated to the candidates who had not previously read it by the Citizens for Proper Government. Three candidates in North Ogden, Dave Hulme, Reed Mackley, and Brent Taylor had previously read this 85 page paperback which clearly describes freedom, justice, and liberty consistent with truth and the United States Constitution.

Diplomacy: The New Battle Call

As we begin to see the unraveling of politics, economics, and societal norms, the message of warning and the sentiment of the inevitability of change seem alarmist and extreme to some. But among those who support Leadership Education, the time for false optimism is past. We must join ranks with those who understand our place in history to answer the call and use the remaining months and years of security to prepare for what will surely be.

HATCH DEBATE - UN-CONSTITUTIONALITY OF HEALTHCARE REFORM BILL

WASHINGTON – Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) spoke from the Senate floor again today on the constitutionality of the Democrat health care reform bill, saying it is not only bad policy for this country, but undermines the basis of our democracy – the Constitution. This speech follows on the heels of a speech he gave yesterday to the renowned Heritage Foundation on this same important subject.
