Willard Religious News

On Monday March 30th, David Smith, 72, set out from his home in Paradise, Utah, on his way to LDS General Conference in Salt Lake City on April 4th. He was walking there from Cache Valley and he was carrying an 80-pound cross. Willard has announced a great success with their City-wide clean-up that was held in April. The dike area is undergoing construction for a new recreation area.  In the past, dumping tree limbs was permitted, but this is no longer allowed. There are alternatives at the green waste area in Brigham City or individual burn permits. The Box Elder County landfill also offers “Pay Once” on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Saturdays of every month for public non-weighable loads only. Call 435-744-2275 for more information.

Officials Debate Changes to Water Connections in South Weber

During a recent Willard City Council meeting, officials discussed the need to notify residents of South Willard that they will be required to connect into the City's water system should a petition to annex the area be accepted.

For the last several years, citizens of South Willard have battled over the idea of being annexed into Willard City with strong arguments from both sides. However, Box Elder County Planner, Scott Lyons, said that the County has yet to receive notice of a petition being filed.
