Phillip Swanson – hopes to “restore the common decency, civility, and cooperation that are absolutely necessary as we face the task of paying for infrastructure, enable growth without destroying the home-town feel, and shift the tax burden away from property owners.”  He is running for office “because I am saddened by the unnecessary level of discord, disrespect, and discourtesy that has become too pervasive… North Ogden deserves better.”  He has researched the issues by attending many meetings “over the past 2 ½ years” and has concluded “my views on what North Ogd

Lynn Satterthwaite – feels he has “a job to finish that began with the plans for the PWF.”  He added that “it looked out of place for a City this size to build a 10 million dollar facility.”  In fact, he lead the successful charge to put the “Bond Question” on the ballot to give NOC citizens the opportunity to vote on the 10 million dollar bond obligation that was proposed by the former CC.  Lynn noted that “It became the deciding factor in the last election and here we are at the next one and it’s still not built.”  He values fiscal responsibility from City leader

Bigler – feels “it’s been an honor to serve… as councilman… and will never forget… I am not your boss...  I work for you!”  He intends to be a mayor “who will listen to you, help you with your concerns, and will work FOR you... residents will be kept informed.”  He believes he “will be in a position to nip excessive spending in the bud” and cites the failed $10 Million Dollar PWF stating “the public works proposal never would have been an issue… I was the one who worked with resident to keep it out of our neighborhoods.”

Graduating students from Weber and Fremont High Schools in the Weber School District were offered modest scholarships of $300 each by the American Spirit Project Committee. They wrote essays on the subject –“How is American Spirit Related to America’s Greatness?” Two scholarships were awarded at Scholarship Awards Assemblies in May of 2013.
