North Ogden

Some local citizens, educators, and business owners have become aware of the federal mandate which requires that schools and federal employers provide education programs about the Constitution on Constitution Day -September 17th of each year. Each passing year has brought more interest and involvement as citizens and educators recognize Constitution Day as an open window of opportunity to learn, teach about and celebrate our Constitution and the freedoms it protects for all of us as Americans.

10th Grade Highest Honor Roll (4.0)

            At the September 25th city council meeting, City Manager Ron Chandler requested a refund for business license fees for applicants that didn’t make enough money with their business to cover the cost of the fees.  The council unanimously granted to refund, and then listened to both Chandler, and the father of the teen-aged boys involved urge them to consider changing the currents ordinance.  Chandler mentioned that it could be considered “heavy-handed” to exact fees from residents for the privilege of conducting business when the fees outweigh the profit, so he suggested an amendm

What began as an effort to look at a “rotten ordinance” has evolved through the process of writing this article.  Let’s start at the beginning.

Captain Brent Taylor has returned from his tour of duty in Aphganistan and stepped back into his spot as a North Ogden City Councilman.  The next City Council meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. on August 14th.  Dave Hulme served in Taylor's place for the months he was away.

One of the issues on the ballot for North Ogden this primary election is a ‘yes or no’ vote on a proposed $7 million bond to build a new public works complex.  All five North Ogden City Councilmen agree that something must be done.  Councilwoman Cheryl Stoker said, “There is a need for a new building.

In its February 28th meeting, the North Ogden City Council approved a resolution in an effort to tighten controls on news paper reporter's access to either a city employee, or to an elected official. The new policy rule is that a phone call from any news media would not be answered directly, but would be answered only in written form - if the city official felt so inclined.
