There have been some major shifts in the healthcare fight recently and I wanted to give you an update on them. On Monday night, it became clear there was not enough support in the Senate to pass the revised Better Care Reconciliation Act (BCRA) when Senators Mike Lee (R-Utah) and Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) came out in opposition to the proposal, which was already opposed by Senators Susan Collins (R-Maine) and Rand Paul (R-Ky.).

Something Like The Truth

The standard Perry Mason courtroom witness swearing-in oath reads, “Do you solemnly swear to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, so help you God?”, all while the witness places his left hand on the Bible and raises his right hand.  You would think such symbolism would be held as sacred.  No more.  The Bible is now optional in our politically correct society.  People can’t swear on the Bible if they don’t believe in it.

While members of the Republican majority are competing to see who can make the deepest cuts, there is a budget proposal before Congress that would boost the economy for all of us while cutting the number of people in poverty in half. It’s The People’s Budget, proposed by the Congressional Progressive Caucus. The People’s Budget invests in safe and productive infrastructure, education, affordable housing, health care and nutrition, child care and working family tax credits. It calls for increasing the minimum wage.

I'm more than a little frustrated right now. I can't stand it when people don't do their job. 

You see, this is how it's supposed to work:
