Bob Dylan Teaches Art Class at Logan High School

Bob Dylan Teaches Art Class at Logan High School

As an elective, Art History is chosen by many a college freshman, but for Jeff Ashcroft’s art class at Logan High School it was a gift from Bob Dylan and George Lois.

Bob Dylan -- troubadour, wandering minstrel, voice of a generation -- artist, poet, musician, rock star, folk hero -- winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature.

LGBT changes to the Boy Scouts letter to the editor

May 8, 2018

Since homosexuals do not reproduce and hence are not normal and will not "survive"  according to Charles Darwin, and since a homosexual orientation has a cognitive rather than a genetic origin which would be contrary to Darwin's laws of nature, the LGBT must constantly replenish its out and open Love Gone Bad Today cesspool through the indoctrination of innocent impressionable minds.

May God drain the LGBT cesspool.

Sincerely,

Michael W. Jarvis

Mother's Day Is Not For Cows

Dear Editor,

As I look forward to Mother's Day and its cherished bond between mother and child, my mind wanders to dairy cows, world-wide symbols of motherhood, who never get to see or nurture their own babies.

Newborn calves are torn from their mothers at birth and turned into veal cutlets, so we can drink the milk designed for them. The grief-stricken mothers bellow for days, hoping in vain for their return.

Letter to the editor

Dear Editor,

National Stuttering Awareness Week begins May 7, 2018. Did you know more than three million Americans stutter? That’s more than the populations of Wyoming, Vermont, Alaska, North Dakota, and Washington, DC…combined.

One percent of your readers stutter, and up to five percent of children stutter for a time during their early developmental years.

Heaven Help Logan, Utah

Heaven Help Logan, Utah

Logan, Utah is one of the most beautiful places on Earth.  “A Heaven on Earth”.  Its early settlers commented on Logan’s majestic beauty referring it to a jewel set into the Cache Valley of northern Utah between the dramatic and widely photographed Wellsville mountains to the west and the Bear River range to the east.  Scandinavian and European pioneers said it reminded them of their mountain valley homes.

“This is the West, Sir! When the Legend Becomes Fact, Print the Legend.”

“This is the West, Sir!  When the Legend Becomes Fact, Print the Legend.”

This famous quote comes from the classic western film ‘The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance’.  It was a statement made by the editor of the local newspaper in reference to a story he’d just heard whose heroic legend was quite different from the complicated facts of the truth.  Anyone who has seen the film knows the story.
