Editorial: Trade in a Global Economy

March 3, 2017

“Like it or Not, it IS a Global Economy!”

That statement begs the question, “How does the United States 1) increase good-paying, sustainable jobs for American citizens, 2) sell products in foreign countries, not just here at home, 3) use trade as a way to improve the world's environmental issues, 4) help foreign workers improve their wages and working conditions, and 5) correct our balance-of-payments deficit?

Trump Won’t Make It Past Easter

Trump Won’t Make It Past Easter

It was the slump in his shoulders as he walked alone crossing the grass on the White house lawn the other day.  He had just exited Marine One, his sweet presidential helicopter ride, with his always uncomfortable salute to the Marine guard at he bottom of the helicopter steps.

The Diet of Lent

The Diet of Lent

Dear Editor,

March 1st marks the beginning of Lent, the 40-day period preceding
Easter, when many Christians abstain from animal foods in remembrance of
Jesus’ 40 days of fasting in the wilderness before launching his
ministry.

The call to refrain from eating animals is as old as the Bible. In
Genesis 1:29, God commands humans to eat only plants; then Prophet
Isaiah predicts that "none will hurt or destroy on God’s holy mountain."

Dishonest Reporters Don't Deserve America

to bcc: me

Those of the press who distort and lie about the good things finally happening in America are traitors... and not worthy of American citizenship.

Maybe we can replace them with honest, law-abiding foreigners who are waiting to immigrate here properly and legally.

They are the ones who will appreciate our rich heritage and celebrate US liberty, rather than try to tear down our republic like the progressive socialists and the liberal media are doing.

Get Rid of Obamacare, But Say No To "Replacement"

The Trump administration promised they would dismantle the ACA (Obamacare) and encourage Congress to repeal it.

I agree with this wholeheartedly. It should never have been passed in the first place and it has been a disaster ever since... affecting many lives negatively, including mine.

However, it appears the Republicans feel obligated to "replace it" with some other government program. Not sure what they have in mind.

Equal Pay for Women Has Consequences

Here's the problem with the Equal Pay bill being considered by the Utah Legislature... Traditionally men have earned more than women in the workplace because they are considered the primary breadwinners for families. They need to make enough to support their families and allow the Mother to remain in the home to raise and nurture the children. If businesses are forced to pay women the same as male earnings, that means they will have to reduce the pay for the men they employ... simple economics.

Proposals for a new Constitution, new tax forms, and re-structuring Congress.

To Whom it may concern:

I am working toward building an organization to help do several things: rewrite and adopt a new version of the U.S. Constitution, change the organizational structure of how Congress does business, and reform/rewrite the Income Tax system.  I'm sending out emails and letters and copies of my own version of what a Constitution 2.0 would be.  I will be fund raising at some point, but right now I'm just trying to make people aware of my work and hoping to generate interest, maybe gain some help along the way.
