Dear Editor:

As he was signing edicts hurting one group after another over the past
two weeks, it was only a matter of time before Donald Trump got around
to hurting animals - already the most oppressed sentient beings on
earth.

Report on Chaffetz' neglect re: holding Trump accountable for conflicts of interest

I am  deeply concerned that Representative Chaffetz, as Chair of the House Oversight Committee, is not properly holding Donald Trump accountable for his conflicts of interest. In August, Rep Chaffetz wisely said “If you’re going to run and try to become the president of the United States, you’re going to have to open up your kimono and show everything, your tax returns, your medical records,”  But these days he seems to be giving Trump a free pass and instead going after public servants like the head of the Office of Government Ethics.

Dear Editor,

With Republican Congress bent on depriving 22 million Americans of
medical insurance, this is a great time to provide our own, totally free
and totally effective health insurance - a plant-based diet.

A study with 131,000 participants, in last year's Internal Medicine,
found that consumption of animal protein is associated with higher risk
of death. A couple dozen other massive studies in the past four decades
had similar findings. None reached opposite conclusions.

Federal Behemoth Needs to Reined In

The abuses of power by the Oval Office in the last weeks of the current administration would cause our Founders to be shocked beyond belief if they could see what the federal government has evolved into.

 

DC operates largely outside the bounds of US Constitution limits. According to original intent the federal government should be tiny, with a very small budget paid for by the States (not individuals), and a very limited scope... not the out-of-control behemoth it has become!
