Thankful November 21, 2015 - A Climate-Change Policy that Pays for Itself

A Climate-Change Policy that Pays for Itself
By Patrick K. Decker

This month, government officials from 190 nations will meet in Paris to forge a plan for reducing greenhouse-gas emissions. Among the most difficult issues they'll face? How to finance the transition to a clean-energy infrastructure, particularly in developing countries.

They could start by identifying existing tools that can dramatically reduce carbon pollution while saving money.

Dear Editor - Why Skip the Turkey on Thanksgiving?

Dear Editor:

While  President Obama is pardoning two turkeys for Thanksgiving, every
one of us can exercise that same presidential power by choosing a
nonviolent Thanksgiving observance that spares a turkey’s life.

More Good Citizens Need to Carry a Gun

Some have been calling for more gun restrictions. There's a problem with that.

First of all, the Founding Fathers did not create the right to keep and bear arms. They merely wrote the Second Amendment to protect that right which we already had. In fact, the right to bear arms is a God-given, natural, fundamental, unalienable, Constitutionally-protected right. One which no one can take away.

Hundreds of Thousands of Refugees... Why Not Just Let Everyone Come?

Secretary of State John Kerry said today, the Obama administration will increase the number of refugees the United States is willing to accept to 100,000 annually in 2017, a significant surge.

But this is not a good thing for America.

All but a handful of developed countries are impoverished, third-world, Hell-holes. Some of them made worse because of US intervention and meddling.

Once we open the floodgates to America for these folks (who will all have stories of suffering and persecution), where will it end?

The New SLDS Grant and Utah's Relationship with D.C

I'd like a response from my own board member, or several of you, please.

First, I hope someone can inform me about who exactly is responsible for Utah extending its SLDS system.  Here is the new link. http://nces.ed.gov/programs/slds/grant_information.asp

Who takes responsibility for this grant and where is the full grant available for public perusal?

We Must Stop the Iran Nuclear Deal

How in the world can our leaders in the USA justify lifting sanctions against Iran and unfreezing their assets, estimated to be as high as $150 Billion?

This is a country that has openly vowed they support the total destruction of Israel and the United States.

The sudden huge windfall for this rogue nation could be used to create weapons that will literally kill Americans and many others.

Dear Editor:

Dear Editor:

All affected by the excessive rain and resulting floods are in our thoughts and prayers.

Utah, please pray the little prayer at www.de-vrouwe.info every day, and for those who know how, the Holy Rosary as well.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Matthew R. Dunnigan

Dear Editor - Contempt of Court Ruling in Kentucky was an Over-Reach of Judiciary

The contempt of court ruling against Kentucky clerk Kim Davis was based on the rule of man... not the rule of law. We allow Conscientious Objectors to serve in other capacities in the military rather than fight... because of their religious convictions.

Dear Editor - Department of Education's Fake Research Driving Policy Change - Special Education

Dear Utah State School Board,

The USOE said that recent NCLB "final rule" changes to special education, which remove all vestiges of state authority over special education's testing and curriculum, do not affect Utah students.  This statement does not seem to match reality.  I wrote to you about it, but nobody responded.
