He Lives! An Easter Poem

The resurrected Lord has risen

No longer in his tomb

He has the power to deliver us

In his heart, there’s always room

He is the Promised Messiah

Helping me overcome sin

Death, trials and weaknesses

Will never, ever win

The Lamb of God lives!

Highlights from General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints

Words such as love, the Atonement of Jesus Christ, The Book of Mormon, testimony, fortress, and covenant path were spoken at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints’ General Conference on Saturday and Sunday, April 6th and 7th, 2019.

General Conferences take place every six months in April and October.  Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints gather in their homes, church buildings and the Conference Center in Salt Lake City (which seats 21,000) to hear the inspired messages from the leaders of the Church.

National Park Week April 20-28, 2019

How many of us remember going, as a kid, to see the national parks? Yellowstone, Dixie, Yosemite or The Grand Tetons to name a few.  And how about Cedar Breaks, Kodachrome Basin, or Bryce Canyon in Utah?

I grew up going to a handful of different national parks throughout Utah. My favorite was Capitol Reef National Park. Traveling to see these spectacular sights were an inexpensive way to take a large family on vacation!  My mom taught us kids well, and we have all grown to love visiting national parks, as adults, with our own kids.

Learning to BREATHE

We breathe everyday—not even realizing the importance of this task.  Our hearts pump the blood throughout our organs and we automatically know to breathe.  While walking up a steep hill lately, my heart began pumping hard; and I felt out of breath.  I had to stop for a minute, regroup and move forward again.  I was very grateful for my body that particular day and the strength I had to tackle that hill on foot.

Days For Girls

During the month of March, I had the opportunity to be part of an amazing day of service.  I was surrounded by my two daughters, plus close friends and neighbors within my Harrisville Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Together we gathered at our local church building on a Saturday for one great cause: Days for Girls, an international girls’ health and education non-profit organization.
